About Us

Welcome To State Bank of India Pensioners’ Association-
Karnataka Circle

Our association took its birth in Karnataka in the year 1982. This was due to the efforts of Sri Brahmanandam and Sri.C.E.Fernandiz. Registered under Societies act the name was finalized as State bank of India Pensioners`Association, (Karnataka) having its office at Bangalore.

Sri A.V. Nagaswamy (not with us now) took up the task of building this organization being the Secretary of the Association for a period of 15 years. He toured all over Karnataka to identify and meet the existing pensioners to register them as members of the association. For this yeoman service everyone remembers Sri Nagaswamy.

In 1986 when the family pension scheme was introduced by the Bank , he again did a job of going round to identify the spouses of the deceased employees who were eligible for this benefit and saw that they got the pension. The association grew bigger due to the new membership of retirees.

Sri.P.R.Chockalingam as the President along with the Secretary did lot of work to give a proper identity to the organization. Sriyuths, H.R.kamath, T.N. Ramachandran, S.N. Subbanna, K.N.Guha, R.N.Godbole served the organization as Presidents. Sri.P.R.Parthsarathy, served the organization as Secretary for a period of 9 years .

Shri Shanthraju a veteran trade union leader after his retirement is now the President of the Association with Sri Rudranna serving as Secretary since 2008. The Committee has a term of three years.

In 1998 spouses of the retirees were made as Associate members .

In 2001 Bank announced the policy of Voluntary retirement scheme for the Staff. This led to the increase of membership.
